PDIC launches AI chatbot – BusinessWorld Online
THE PHILIPPINE Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) has launched a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence (AI) as it modernizes its website.
“POLA (PDIC Online Assistant) is designed to enhance our ability to respond quickly, accurately, and efficiently to public inquiries — especially as we see a growing number of tech-savvy depositors, closed bank clients, and other stakeholders engaging with us online,” PDIC President and Chief Executive Officer Roberto B. Tan said in a statement on Wednesday.
Through POLA, users of PDIC’s website will get real-time access to reliable, user-friendly information.
The state insurer also plans to give Facebook Messenger users access to POLA through the PDIC’s official Facebook page.
Mr. Tan reassured that despite the improvement of PDIC’s digital tools, its traditional service channels are still able to consistently service customers,
“Regardless of the channel — online or face-to-face — our commitment remains the same: timely, accurate, and personalized service for every Filipino we serve,” Mr. Tan said.
POLA also serves as a key component of the PDIC’s broader Customer Handling System, a centralized platform designed to handle queries, requests, and complaints across multiple service channels.
PDIC launched POLA on Oct. 14 and was led by Civil Service Commission (CSC) Assistant Commissioner for Professionalization and Cooperation Judith A. Dongallo-Chicano, and CSC-National Capital Region Field Office Director Cesar Garduque, Jr., and Mr. Tan. — Aaron Michael C. Sy
